metromesh is a wireless hot zone that is currently being deployed over the Perth CBD (City area). It is based on standards compliance technology that allows anyone using a 80x.11x wireless device to use and roam the network to gain access to the Internet, communicate back to the corporate office or make VOIP calls (ie. Skype).
A metromesh node is installed on the top of buildings within the CBD area and provides coverage to the ground and into buildings.
For the buildings that have a node installed on them we can also provide direct Ethernet services to the tenants using "Ethernet over Powerline" technology as well as traditional copper/fibre communications. Tenants are offered a 10Mb connection that runs up to the node on the roof, which in turn uses our wireless backhaul to communicate to our core nodes via the backhaul mesh.
At any time on the network, users will be no more than two hops from our core nodes and not withstanding external factors, should be able to exit our network in approximately 10ms. This makes it ideal for VOIP carriage and other time sensitive traffic. Once we have continuous coverage we have tested the system up to 140 Km/h, so you can drive around the city and have continuous coverage.
All our plans consist of "No set-up fees" and "No monthly fees", you just pay for what you use. This requires that your charge your account (just like a prepaid mobile phone service), with credit and the credit runs down as you download.
