Listed below are a number of common questions asked of metromesh support:

How to register

Cannot find the 'register now' option.

The 'register now' option only appears on the web page once you are actually connected to the network and it does not appear on the http://www.metromesh.com.au web site. Review the addition support options below if you are unable to get connected.

Unable to send email

You can receive email but are unable to send email.

metromesh does not provide outbound SMTP servers. You can still send email through the ISP that you have your email account with by enabling STMP outbound authentication.


Network connection

Connect to the metromesh wireless network.

If you are in a coverage area, your PC needs to connect to the metromesh wireless network.

Ensure you have signal strength

If your signal if weak you may have a slow connection.

metromesh authentication

Ensure your web browser isn't using a proxy server.

You must have a direct connection to the Internet to use metromesh .

Register an account

You must register an account with metromesh to use the wireless network. You can trial the service, or select a wireless paid plan.



Unable to login and recieve this message


"We could not log you in. This may be because you (a) have not registered, or (b) entered an incorrect username or password (case sensitive), or (c) you do not have sufficient credit. Please Recharge your account."

You registered for WiFREE, used the system then receive this message.

The WiFREE plan only gives you a limited amount of credit to trial the system. If you would like to continue to use the system then you should now proceed to the Customer Management System, change to a pre-paid plan and charge your account with credit.

You are a registered user and then start receiving this message.

You have either used the incorrect password or you account has no more credit. You can check your credit by proceeding to the Customer Management System, logging in and checking your credit status. If you are unable to login to the Customer Management System then you are using the wrong password.



Machine preparation

Ensure your wireless device is turned on.

If your wireless device is inbuilt there may be a button on your device to activate wireless support. If you are using a PCMCIA or USB wireless device, ensure that it has been recognised by the operating system.

Ensure your wireless device doesn't use a static IP address

You may use a static IP address for a home or office wireless network. metromesh requires you to use an automatically generated IP address.
